Extended Care Staff

Ms. Moore

I moved to Florida with my family in 2004, joined OSLC, and have been actively involved in the church ministry ever since. Two years later, I joined the OSLS staff. Here, I have been able to work with all ages, helping them to grow as God's children. My two younger daughters, Alyssa and Elizabeth, were confirmed here and are working on their college degrees. My oldest, Katy, lives in Milwaukee and has a degree in Social Work. She has overcome the obstacles of being deaf and is the reason that I learned to sign. God has lead me in directions I never thought I could go and continues to do so even today.

My husband Lou and I married in 1967 and were blessed with three daughters, Joyce, Jennifer, and Amy. God then blessed us with three grandsons, Evan, Christopher, and Grayson. I started working at Our Savior Lutheran School in 1981, first as an assistant kindergarten teacher, a preschool four-year-old teacher, then a preschool librarian and music teacher, and an afterschool care coordinator until 2002. My husband and I moved to South Carolina and I continued to work at other preschools in that area. In 2012, we moved back to the Plantation area and I am now working in the preschool aftercare program.

Ms. Simmonds

I began working at Our Savior Lutheran in 2015. This New Jersey native came to Florida in 1991 for college, and has not left since. I have earned a B.S. in Psychology and B.A.S. in Business. I am the mother of two (2) angels, a “special” 11yr old girl, and handsome 6yr boy who attend school here. I am actively involved in my church within many ministries and have experienced several roles including, being a classroom teacher’s assistant, Children’s Church teacher, ministry department head, and co-leader, event/marketing liaison, youth ministry worker, and any other area that God assigns me. My children are my center of joy! In my free time, I enjoy watching Disney Channel/Nick Jr., going to the movies, attending special play-dates/birthday parties or just going to park/beach with my kids.

Why OSL? When seeking a school for my son to start K, while touring the grounds I felt the sense of community, faith, and values that I experienced when I was in school and wanted him to have receive the same in a school. The Bible makes it very clear that children are very special to God because they are a given gifts to parents (Deut. 7:13; Ps. 127:3). Another verse shares the great benefit is that children bring joy and blessings to adults (Num. 5:28; Deut. 28:4, 11). Therefore, when the opportunity was presented to work at OSL- I was very excited to be part of the staff and hope to positively influence the students.

Mrs. Woistman

I began working at Our Savior in 2015. I work with preschoolers as an Extended Care staff member. I am currently working towards my Bachelors Degree in hopes of becoming a teacher. Working with children has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I feel very blessed for being given this wonderful opportunity. I am thankful for being apart of a loving staff and look forward to an amazing year.
