Background

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. In 1994 I started my Bachelor’s degree at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana and then graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1998 I also completed a Masters degree at the University of Wisconsin. I’ve been teaching for 23 years. I’ve mostly been a Kindergarten and a First grade teacher. 5 of those wonderful years were as the First Grade teacher here at OSL. My 2 children were students at OSL and are now alumni. For some years I taught in a Spanish immersion program, and as of last year, I’ve had the joy of being back at OSL, serving as the Spanish teacher. I feel blessed to consider teaching my vocation, not just my profession. It’s a privilege to do what I do with diligence, excellence and love every day.

Favorite Bible Verse

Be still and know that I am God.’ It reminds me to trust and surrender to God, especially in hard times. His plans are better than ours, His love is endless, His peace goes beyond understanding, and He promises to always be with us.  Psalm 46:10
