I began teaching in 1991, but when I joined the Our Savior Lutheran Church and School staff in 1994, I knew I had found my ministry – my home. Prior to teaching, I worked both as a staff writer for Coral Ridge Ministries, an outreach of D. James Kennedy’s Coral Ridge Presbyterian church, and as a free lance writer. Before becoming the Principal and Preschool Director in 2013, I had the pleasure of teaching at nearly every grade level. I even had the honor in 2009 of receiving the Dr. Ben Eggers Outstanding Lutheran Educator of the Year for the Florida-Georgia District. With a Masters in Educational Leadership, Directors Credentials, certifications in Elementary Education and English (grades 6 through 12), and the completion of the Lutheran Colloquy program of study, I can see how God has equipped me for ministry at Our Savior. My own three grandchildren remind me daily of the precious trust our families are placing in our school and our staff to partner with them in helping each child grow and thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. It is helping children grow and thrive in the Lord that continues to motivate me daily.
One of my favorite Bible verses, which comes from Colossians 3:23, speaks to one of my central beliefs:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…”
